Could I get addicted to any of the Vicks Sinex and Breathing solutions? There is no evidence to suggest that any of the remedies in our sinus and breathing range are addictive. Occasionally, Vicks VapoRub can cause a temporary reddening of the skin in the region where the product has been rubbed in. This is quite normal, and the "skin reddening" fades and disappears within hours without any further action. This product should not be used in pregnancy unless advised by your doctor. It is recommended you do not take Sinex Decongestant Capsules if: You are allergic to any of the ingredients listed. You are pregnant. You are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors, or within 14 days of stopping such treatment. You are taking tricyclic anti-depressant drugs. Ingredients: How to use Vicks VapoRub: Vicks VapoRub is effective if applied to the skin, or mixed with hot water and inhaled as a steam. Rub Vicks VapoRub liberally on the chest, throat and back. Cover whole area for maximum effect. Leave nightclothes loose to allow vapours to be inhaled easily. For children (infants and babies over 2 years of age), apply lightly to chest and back. Rub in gently. Leave clothes loose for easy inhalation. Or Melt two teaspoons of Vicks VapoRub in very hot (not boiling) water. Inhale the medicated vapours for 10-15 minutes.
