Immigrants Coming to America
amazon.co.uk
Jo Condrill stacked the deck with iImmigration professors, an International Affairs Consultant, and 12 immigrants for her new book, Immigrants Coming to America. This Kindle Best-Selling Author interviewed U.S.immigrants from all over the world: Mexico, Sri Lanka, Syria, Georgia, Pakistan, Norway, Germany, and Vietnam. Each tells a dramatic real-life story of Coming to America. One of the immigrants is undocumented. Another immigrant was granted asylum. He came to the U.S. on business and while he was away his business was taken over by the government. He faced imprisonment if he returned. Another one of the immigrants was a refugee whose escape boat was attacked by pirates. The Foreword to the book was written by Paul E. White, a career Foreign Affairs expert who is today an International Affairs Consultant. Over a 40 year Foreign Service career, Mr. White served in increasingly senior positions overseas in the U.S. Agency for International Development and in U.S. Embassies in Asia and Latin America. Major responsibilities in his early career included: refugee relief and rehabilitation. At mid-career he served as a General Development Officer overseeing education, training, health, population, nutrition, environment and energy portfolios. In his late career, he formed major alliances for Third World nations, bringing in and/or creating innovative small businesses and nongovernmental groups as partners with more traditional development providers. He led U.S. - Japan and U.S. -Mexico common agenda alliances as Minister Counselor and foreign economic assistance director at the U.S. Embassies in Tokyo and Mexico. To better explore today's immigration issues, Jo Condrill interviewed two esteemed immigration law professors, Lee J. Tern, J.D. and Erica B. Schommer, J.D. Professor Tern is a clinical professor of law at St. Marys University School of Law and directs the Immigration and Human Rights clinic. She is a 1975 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. She has been licensed to practice in Texas since 1976, and since 1984 has been board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of immigration and nationality law. She has litigated a number of civil rights cases concerning immigrants and refugees and was formerly a co-director of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. She has written and frequently lectures on issues relating to nationality, immigrant victims of violence, and the immigration consequences of crime.Erica B. Schommer is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice before the Fifth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals. Before joining the St. Marys Law faculty, she was in private practice in Tacoma, Washington. From 2003 to 2010 she practiced immigration law on the U.S.A./Mexico border with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. (TRLA) where she was the managing attorney for TRLAs anti-human trafficking team and the director of the Legal Orientation Program at the Willacy Detention Center in Raymondville, Texas. All were interviewed by the author and transcripts of the interviews form the basis of the book. Be inspired; be informed; buy the book!  read more

Coming To America
amazon.co.uk
By writing this story, the authors purpose is to open a small window into the global picture of the struggle of millions of people that left their old country, with the hope of finding a better life. The ordeal of change from the comforts of their surroundings, to going into a new world was akin to changing their skin; it was painful. Yet, either famine, internal warfare, or the threat of extinction by the Nazi, propelled millions of people to leave all their possessions, abandon families and march engulfed by unproven hope, half way around the globe, where there existed a continent that offered a better life. America beckoned.  read more

The Coming Collapse of America
amazon.co.uk
This book is designed to demonstrate the precarious position of this country due to its huge debt. By 2020, the debt-GDP ratio of this country could well exceed 120 percent, which is considered the tipping point by the IMF. After such time, this country will suffer inflation, which will dampen investment, diminish the real value of savings, and result in a recession or depression. The primary solution for this country is to reform its entitlement programs and balance the budget. The book addresses how this country can enact a balanced budget amendment to the US Constitution to stem this nations huge debt and how membership in the Libertarian Party can foster this enactment. This book shows how to privatize social security, Medicare, and Medicaid through individual savings accounts. The book also shows how this country can develop a low-cost catastrophic hospital plan as well as a low-cost GP (family doctor) insurance plan.  read more
